Bel-Air, the reimagination of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has reportedly earned a third season on NBC Universal’s streaming platform, Peacock.
“We’re halfway through the season and decided why not bless the fans with some more good news?” a message from the show’s official Twitter account reads.
“[Bel-Air] is coming back for another season! Don’t call it a comeback [because] the kings (and queens) never left!”
Inspired by a movie trailer developed by Morgan Cooper, the series tells the story of a young Philadelphia native who is shipped out to live with his relatives in Bel-Air. Surrounded by new opportunities and faced with new challenges, Will and his relatives battle through setbacks, betrayal and more to discover what family, friendship and love really mean.
Season two of the show picks up in the summer after Will meets his father, Lou. Unsure of how to move forward, Will, played by Jabari Banks, tries to work through a tough period with the elders in his family while also managing what may be left of a relationship with Lisa and pursuing his hoop dreams.
