Alicia Keys and her longtime manager Jeff Robinson part ways after having worked together for over ten years. Keys and Robinson released a joint statement.
Robinson and Keys will continue to collaborate and produce future albums through MBK/J Records while Keys will now oversee her career, according to a statement. Keys’ company, AK Worldwide, will take the reins on opportunities ranging from touring and licensing to film, television, and new business development.
“This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes,” read a statement, adding that the decision was “mutually agreed upon and amicable.”
MBK Entertainment Inc. has been the management firm for Keys since she was a teenager. MBK is said to now be shifting its focus toward developing new talent including Elle Varner and Gabi Wilson. MBK also recently formed a new label, Glory to Glory Records.

Although I am for some reason not the biggest fan of Jeff Robinson, he sure did a good job in the past years helping Alicia to become the superstar she is today. This is why those news do not exactly excite me but I guess only time will tell if this change was good or not.
