Grab your remotes you couch potatoes, we have some news from the people at FOX in regards to what you guys can expect on your televisions this upcoming Winter. While we enjoy the likes of Empire, Gotham, Family Guy, The Simpsons and the list goes on, there are some new shows heading to FOX starting in January as well as the announcement of returning regulars which includes the return of The X-Files and the last season of American Idol.
As far as new shows are concerned, FOX will be premiering ‘Bordertown’, ‘Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life’, ‘Lucifer’, ‘Second Chance’, ‘Son of Zorn’ and the return of ‘The X-Files’.
‘Bordertown‘ (Premiere: Jan 3, 2016 @ 9:30 PM EST)
Bordertown is a new animated comedy which focuses on two families who live in a desert town on the US-Mexico border. Hence ‘Bordertown’. The two families are the Buckwalds and Gonzalezes who live totally different lives from one another. Exploring different topics that are relevant in today’s society the new comedy will touch on politics, family and culture.
“The series takes a satirical look at the cultural shifts occurring in America, where the U.S. Census forecasts that by 2017, ethnic minorities will become the majority”
‘Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life‘ (Premiere: Jan 3, 2016 @ 8:30 PM EST)
If you thought you had it bad in life or your love was in shambles or your friends for that matter were just as bad then you haven’t met Cooper Barrett. Now Cooper is just like any middle age man who is living life but doesn’t have the job of his dreams so with life comes the very obstacles and challenges associated with it.
While he is dealing with is own issues like; jail, a text he should have never sent (hopefully he was drunk) or a pet that is an unwanted guest, his friends, Neal, Barry and Josh come loaded with their own.
‘Lucifer‘ (Premiere: Jan 25, 2016 @ 9:00 PM EST)
Know the saying “hell on earth”? Well in this upcoming drama, ‘Lucifer’ is a show about the fallen Angel himself who decided to retire. Yes, the Devil himself is retiring from his throne of evil. Lucifer Morningstar now resides in Los Angeles and owns a club named Lux. Things seem to be okay with Lucifer until a murder occurs outside of the club of a pop star and as a result the LAPD gets involved. The officer played by Chloe Decker isn’t too fond of Lucifer but when she learns of his ability to get the truth out of people and his willingness to get justice the two then team up. What a way to flip the script. Lucifer fighting crime? He starts to get intrigued by doing good. Well with his new look on life trying to solve the murder of the Pop singer, one of God’s emissary, the angel Amenadiel is sent to try to bring him back to the underworld.
Will Lucifer return to the world of evil or stick to the side of being good?
‘Second Chance‘ (Premiere: Jan 13, 2015 @ 9:00 PM EST)
While there is no trailer for ‘Second Chance’ present yet the new action drama coming to Fox is a modern twist on Frankenstein. What would you do with a second chance at life. At the age of 75 Jimmy Pritchard is a former sheriff who has battled drinking, womanizing and putting his work before his family. 15 years after being forced to retire from his duties as Sheriff, Jimmy was killed when he stumbled upon a robbery at his sons house, Duval Pritchard.
Thanks to the technology created by the twins Mary and Otto Goodwin who created the social networking phenom ‘Lookinglass’, Jimmy was then resurrected back to life but in a much younger body, hence the title ‘Second Chance’. It is up to him now to take this opportunity to do things the right way, will he or is he stuck in his ways?
‘The X-Files‘ (Premiere: Jan 24, 2015 @ 10:00 PM EST)
There is really no introduction needed for ‘The X-Files’ as the classic series is returning for a six episode event that picks up where the show left off THIRTEEN years ago. According to FOX the cast in still in tact;
Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors.
