
The Wu-Tang Clan will forever be immortalized in television and film. Last month, Nas announced that the Mass Appeal produced Wu-Tang documentary would debut on Showtime later this year. In addition, Hulu is currently working on a scripted series based on the origins of the Wu-Tang Clan. Today, Hulu announced that they have made their first round of casting decisions.
According to a report from Variety, Ashton Sanders, Shameik Moore, Siddiq Saunderson, Marcus Callender, Zolee Griggs and Erika Alexander have all been cast in Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Moonlight‘s Ashton Sanders will play RZA, Moore will play Sha Raider, Saunderson will play Ghostface Killa, Callender will be Power Grant, Griggs will play Shurrie and Alexander will assume the role of Linda.
Behind the camera, Alex Tse and RZA will co-write the series. Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Method Man will then join those two as executive producers. The rest of the Wu-Tang members will also act as consulting producers for the Hulu series.
The upcoming Hulu series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, has yet to begin shooting and does not yet have a release date.
