Anybody who has ever played the first Metal Gear Solid has it in high regards as one of the greatest games of all time. Since its original release, Kojima Productions and Konami have modernized it once and it was for the Gamecube. Since the arrival of the Ps4 and full fledged remakes of games, there has been a public outcry for the remake. Before Hideo’s departure from Konami, he said he was up to the task, but didn’t have the man power to do so. And with his recent departure from Konami, it is safe to say that it will never happen now, at least not from Konami.
YouTuber, iRam Gamer and his companions are taking it upon themselves to remake the game themselves. The project is still in its early stages, but they want Konami to see what they have done so far and that a remake is possible and wanted.
iRam took to Facebook to clarify the possibility of the Unreal Engine remake seeing the light of day.
We just need to clarify something:
Konami owns the MGS copyright and therefore sooner or later
we will need their full permission. We have therefore chosen to openly share this project from the beginning so that we can deal with any issues that may arise as they come.
We believe this is better than putting years of work into a project only
to get it shut down. Please, respect this decision.
Thanks for your attention,
Airam.
Hopefully Konami can decide to team up with iRam and bring fans what they want. Check out the trailer for Metal Gear Solid on Unreal Engine 4 above.
