DC Films Co-CEO James Gunn has offered fans a bit of good news via Twitter. Recently, Gunn informed fans that the DC Universe would not only be connected through film, but will also include connected television shows and video games in the future.
“James Gunn, are you and your partner planning to give more DC character TV shows that’ll add to the story for the DCEU?” one fan asked.
“Yes, most definitely, the DCU will be connected across film and TV (and animation),” he replied.
“Are there plans for games to be connected to the DCU as well, Mr. Gunn?” another fan asked.
“Yes,” he stated.
DC Films Co-Chairman James Gunn and Peter Safran have big plans for the DC Universe. Recently, Gunn told The Hollywood Reporter that he has been working with “some of the best thinkers in the industry” to develop a lengthy plan for the likes of Batman, Superman, Aquaman and various other characters.
“The opportunity to make DC as great as it can be, and as it should be, that is the reason why I’m doing this job, because I know that Peter and I can do that,” Gunn said.
“We spent the past couple days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the industry, the best writers in the industry, starting to map out that eight to ten-year plan of what it’s going to look like in theatre, in TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.”
