LSU Tigers third-string quarterback Walker Howard has announced that he will transfer to the Ole Miss Rebels for next season. With Jayden Daniels announcing his return to the program and backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier also returning there would be limited or no snaps next season for Howard. He is a former top-40 recruit from the 2022 class. The LSU quarterback room is only likely to get more crowded in the next two years and with NFL aspirations Howard needs to see the field sooner than that. Ole Miss could be the perfect landing spot for him.

Walker Howard got to play in one game this season and it was in the fourth quarter of the team’s 63-7 win over the Purdue Boilermakers in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. In that game, he completed two passes for seven yards on four attempts. He also rushed the ball three times for 18 yards in the game. Howard will hope to showcase his talent with a bigger role next season with the Ole Miss Rebels. There was speculation about what program he would commit to with the TCU Horned Frogs being rumored. Head Coach Lane Kiffin stepped in and landed the former top 40 recruit.
