Wale has been a very busy man over the last few months. Beginning the year as a free agent in the music industry, Wale put out a freestyle over SZA’s “The Weekend” and a project titled, Self Promotion. Shortly thereafter, Wale came back with a video for “Staying Power”, another project called It’s Complicated and a load of new loose tracks. Since then, Wale’s been picked up by Warner and seems to be putting together an album for late 2018 or early 2019. In the meantime, Wale has decided to feed his fan base with a new song called, “IWIMME”.
Similar to his freestyle over “The Weekend”, Wale puts his own spin on Mahalia’s “I Wish I Missed My Ex”. Staying consistent with the quality of his recent verses, Wale puts together a strong verse with a few quotable lines. Wale raps, “Your p*ssy average at best. Your conversation is garbage That’s why you stay with you mama. That’s why you stay in some drama. That’s why you stay by yourself. You hurt the people that love you.” From start to finish, the song is definitely relatable for anyone that’s dealt with their trash ex significant other recently.
