It does not appear that Vitor Belfort and Hasim Rahman Jr. will share the ring on October 15, 2022 in the U.K. as originally scheduled. Instead, the two heavyweight boxers will square off on November 9, 2022 in Austin, Texas.
“It is great to be able to announce the third show in our MF & DAZN: X Series, and our first in the U.S.,” Joseph Markowski of DAZN said, per Boxing Scene.
“We are super excited about these shows; their reach and their potential to excite and entice a growing new generation of fight fans. Stay tuned for more shows and more big names to be announced soon.”
It is unclear why the fight was moved to a different date and venue. However, many speculate that the decision could have been made after a number of other fights were moved to October 15, 2022. Most notably, Deontay Wilder and Caleb Plant will return to the ring for the first time in 2022 at the Barclays Center on October 15, 2022. Miles away, Jake Paul will battle former UFC champion Anderson Silva in Phoenix, Arizona. Rounding out the day’s slate of events, Claressa Shields will take on Savannah Marshall while Mikaeala Mayer battles Alycia Baumgardner in London.
