Pau Gasol had the second most impressive individual outing of Saturday. The Chicago Bulls big-man had a triple-double in attempting to lead his squad without both Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler.
The 35 year old Gasol turned back the clock, showcasing the skillset that made him one of the best big-men in the league for a long stretch of his career. The Spaniard dropped 22 points, 16 rebounds, and a career-high 14 assists in a losing effort against the Portland Trail Blazers. The All-Star’s performance was only the seventh such game in the NBA since the 1983-84 season.
Gasol has had some struggles this season, especially on the defensive end of the floor. However, he is always a possibility for a throwback performance and he showed that on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Bulls were unable to capitalize and get the win at home.
