Verzuz is entering a new era. As the world returns to a new normal, the music showcase will seek to incorporate live audiences, theatrics and much more. Some of those added features were on display during the rematch between Timbaland and Swizz Beatz in Miami over Memorial Day Weekend. Moving forward, they’ll look to improve upon what did and did not work as they handle their next two battles.
Timbaland and Swizz Beatz have announced that two Verzuz battles will take place in June. The first battle will feature Trina and Eve on June 16 and the second battle will feature Soulja Boy and Bow Wow on June 26. There is also a third battle set to take place on July 1 with two unannounced participants.
Verzuz will also look to incorporate more sponsors for these three battles. Friday Night Vibes on TBS will sponsor the battle between Trina and Eve while Essence will sponsor the battle on July 1. Also, the battle featuring Bow Wow and Soulja Boy will take place the day before the 2021 BET Awards. Therefore, BET could potentially have some involvement in that event as well.
