Last month, Usher wrapped up NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series for Black Music Month. The R&B crooner celebrated the 25th anniversary of his sophomore effort, My Way, with live renditions of his hits like “You Make Me Wanna” and “Nice & Slow.” He also revisited classics lifted from his diamond-certified album, Confessions, including “Superstar” and “Confessions, Pt. II.”
The performance has led to a spike in Usher’s streams, according to Billboard and Luminate.
The fan-favorite “Superstar,” received a 238% increase, leaping from 111,000 to 375,000 streams between June 29) and July 1.
Usher’s “Confessions, Pt. II,” produced by Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri, increased by over 48%. Additionally, streams for Usher’s discography rose from 4.1 million to 5.6 million, and his 2004 album, Confessions, reentered the Billboard 200 during the last tracking week.
Usher will resume his Las Vegas residency on July 15 and is set to release his long-awaited eighth album later this year. In the meantime, he recently collaborated with the City Girls for their new single, “Good Love.”
