The month of June has begun and there is no better time to celebrate the impact of Black music around the world. In an effort to honor those who have influence music and pop culture, Tiny Desk Series Producer Bobby Carter has put together a series of incredible performances. During Black Music Month, Usher, Monica, FKA Twigs, Denzel Curry, Ravyn Lenae and several other talented acts will put together Tiny Desk (home) concert sets. In addition, NPR has curated a Jazz Night in America celebration that will honor past and present Black jazz artists throughout the month of June.
“We will publish eleven performances representing the past, present, and future of Black music. This is the first time each of the eleven acts will play the Tiny Desk,” Carter said.
“The Tiny Desk has become a go-to source to witness Black artists express themselves in ways we’ve never seen. This month of carefully curated shows reinforces how uniquely the Tiny Desk showcases Black music.”
The special set of Tiny Desk concerts and curated playlists will be rolled out beginning June 1, 2022 and run through June 30, 2022.
