Uncharted 4’s multiplayer lead designer, Robert Cogburn, has confirmed that UC4 multiplayer will not run on dedicated servers. “We’ll still have a host, it’s still peer-to-peer,” said Robert Cogburn during Naughty Dog’s press conference at Paris Games Week. Uncharted’s multiplayer will stick to its roots with peer-to-peer connections.
Every fan of online multiplayer game begs for dedicated servers as it eliminates weak connections and host migrations at bad times. With dedicated servers — mostly for online shooters — there’s a lack of bullets wrapping around corners and lagging, which results in a whole lot of rage for gamers.
Stay tuned for any updates on Uncharted 4’s multiplayer. The multiplayer beta recently received a release window, if you missed it, you can catch up, here.
