Head Coach Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have landed the commitment of 2023 top 20 recruit and top five combo guard Tyrese Proctor. The Australian guard is a member of the NBA Global Academy and projects to be a “one and done” prospect. He will in all likelihood declare for the 2024 NBA Draft after his single year of college basketball with the Duke Blue Devils. Scheyer has built two massively talented recruiting classes in 2022 and 2023 to start his tenure as the Head Coach of Duke.
Tyrese Proctor, the No. 26 overall prospect in the 2023 class, has committed to Duke, he tells @On3Recruits.
Despite being 10,000 miles away from home in Australia, he says “ever since I first stepped on campus at Duke, it just felt like home.”

Tyrese Proctor is a top-level five-star prospect and joins several other talented five-stars coming into the program in the 2023 recruiting class. He joins top 15 point guard Caleb Foster, top 30 shooting guard Jared McCain, and top 30 power forward Sean Stewart. They are also the favorites to land the commitment of top three small forward Mackenzie Mgbako on Friday. The 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes are projected to finish as the number one classes each year for the Duke Blue Devils.
Scheyer could be done with the Class 2023 if Mackenzie Mgbako (3) — as expected – chooses Duke tomorrow night.
Duke has Caleb Foster (12), Jared McCain (24), Tyrese Proctor (26) and Sean Stewart (29).
Incredible back-to-back classes. https://t.co/IcxJLOpqYO

Replacing legendary Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski will be a tall task for the new Head Coach, but these two classes are off to an amazing start. Tyrese Proctor will be an immediate impact recruit and will be yet another former Duke Blue Devil playing in the NBA one day.
