Head Coach in waiting Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have landed the commitment of 2022 top 15 recruit and top five small forward Mark Mitchell. He committed to the Duke Blue Devils over the UCLA Bruins and the Missouri Tigers. Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils continue to load up five-star talent in preparation for their first year in a new era of Duke basketball. Mitchell like many other Duke recruits has “one and done” potential and will likely declare for the 2023 NBA Draft.

The Duke 2022 recruiting class is loaded and Mark Mitchell makes the batch of freshmen coming in even more ridiculously talented. While the Jon Scheyer era has many question marks for the program, talent on the roster will not be a problem. The roster has at least three potential “one and done” players, but it could be four. Duke could still be in the mix for other names in the 2022 class.
Duke now has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class for 2022.
5?? Dereck Lively II
5?? Dariq Whitehead
5?? Kyle Filipowski
5?? Mark Mitchell
4?? Jaden Schutt— Joe Tipton (@TiptonEdits) December 10, 2021
Mark Mitchell is a talented player from Kansas City that was once leaning heavily toward the home state Kansas Jayhawks. As he moved through the process he would cut them out of his top three and now finds himself with The Brotherhood. His time at Duke with a talented roster should be fun to watch.
