In under ten fights, Terri Harper had done enough to be listed among the best in women’s boxing. Holding both the IBO and WBC Super Featherweight titles at just 25 years old, Harper was on top of the world as she entered her 12th professional fight against Alyicia Baumgardner. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as she had hoped. In a frightening finish, Baumgardner knocked out Harper in the fourth round.
Months removed from the first loss of her professional career, Harper is looking to get back in the ring and resume her journey to greatness. The first step on that journey will take place this spring. Bad Left Hook reports that Harper has signed on to fight Heather Hardy this March. Not only will it be her first fight of the new year, but it will also be her first fight at 135 pounds.
Her opponent, Heather Hardy, will test her in this new weight class. At 39 years old, Hardy has shared the ring with some of the best including Amanda Serrano and Jessica Camara. While sought, Harper will enter the fight as the clear betting favorite. Still, she’ll have to prove it come fight time on March 12 in Nottingham, England.
