Terrence Jones looks to be the latest victim of the NBA trade deadline. He did not actually get traded, however. Without finding any feasible suitors, the Pelicans will most likely look to waive Terrence Jones per Justin Verrier of ESPN.
The Pelicans are now expected to waive Terrence Jones, according to sources, so that he can pursue other options.

This comes after recently acquiring superstar power forward DeMarcus Cousins and the end of the trade deadline. With a logjam at the four, it only made sense for the Pelicans to move on. The most surprising aspect of this move is the Pelicans inability to find a trade partner
Jones has had a very up and down career but he appeared to be playing better this season. Averaging 11.5 points per game 5.9 rebounds 1 block on 47% shooting this year and playing with a consistent energy, one would assume he would be attractive on the trade market. Obviously, rival GM’s either were not impressed or knew the Pelicans would move on no matter what. It will be interesting to see what team Jones lands on.
