The city of Atlanta, Georgia is preparing for a major run in the month of October. ONE Musicfest is set to bring Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, Jeezy, City Girls and many other top acts to Central Park. Not long thereafter, Nardo Wick, G Herbo and 21 Savage will bring their talents to the Atlanta University Center for homecoming. To top it all off, Lil’ Baby is ready to release his latest album, It’s Only Me. With all of that going on, tonight belongs to Takeoff and Quavo.
Under the moniker of Nef and Phew, Takeoff and Quavo have delivered their debut duo album, Only Built For Infinity Links. The 18-track project is led by the previously released singles, “Hotel Lobby,” Nothing Changed,” “Us vs. Them” featuring Gucci Mane and “Big Stunna” featuring Birdman. The project also features Summer Walker, Mustard, NBA Youngboy, Young Thug and Gunna. One year removed from the released of Culture III, Only Built For Infinity Links builds upon their previous works and reflects the time the two have put into their music.
“This is a special project, man. There was a lot of tinkering, and to look back at that moment [when we started it] to now, it’s a lot,” Takeoff told Jordan Rose of Complex.
“A lot of collecting marbles and jewels. A lot of collecting information and seeing what’s going on in the streets and in the world. Just sitting back like a young Bruce Wayne and the great Superman, ready to go at any moment,” Quavo added.
