“Let me tell you what my life like,” Chicago’s own G Herbo captioned his Instagram post on September 12 as he shared the cover of his latest album, Survivor’s Remorse: A Side.
To say that G Herbo has lived a wild life would be an understatement. It may be hard to believe, but the Chicago native is only 26 years old. He may seem older because of his life experiences and the fact that national audiences were introduced to his music back in the early 2010s as the sound of drill music permeated earbuds around the world. Over the last decade, he’s managed to work with everyone from Nicki Minaj to Goodbye Tomorrow. He’s also delivered records like “Who Run It?” and “Everything” with Southside. Along the way, he’s matured and reflected on his wild teenage and early adult years through his music. Nowhere is this reflection more evident than on his fourth studio album, PTSD. One year removed from one of his most personal projects yet, he has returned with yet another project that looks back on where he’s been and examines where he is now.
G Herbo has kicked off the weekend by delivering his latest LP, Survivor’s Remorse: A Side. The 12-track project includes tracks like “Blues” featuring Future along with contributions from Essex, Gunna, Jeremih, Benny The Butcher and Offset. His son, Yosohn, is also featured on the album’s first track, “FWM.” Check out the first half of Survivor’s Remorse below and be on the look out for the second side later this month.
