On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Kendrick Lamar revealed SZA would join him as special guest during his performance at halftime of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
SZA is the first guest Lamar has unveiled since accepting the offer to perform at Super Bowl LIX last year, but she will likely not be the last. Shortly after SZA was confirmed as a special guest, Tyler, The Creator left a cryptic Instagram comment suggesting he may join the Compton native at Caesars Superdome during halftime of the big game. Tyler, The Creator is also a Los Angeles native, appeared in Lamar’s “Hillbillies” video with Baby Keem and performed during The Pop Out last summer. Still, the GRAMMY Award winner is a well-known prankster and troll who could just be teasing his fans, but all will be revealed in the coming weeks.
As for SZA, not only is she set to join her former TDE label mate at the Super Bowl, but she’s also set to join him on tour. Beginning April 19, the duo will headline the Grand National Tour as it makes stops in more than two dozen cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas and Philadelphia. On June 18, 2025, the tour will conclude in Landover, Maryland at Northwest Stadium.
