Who knew “Stan” culture would ever go this far? From the diabolically creative minds of Janine Nabers and Donald Glover, Prime Video’s Swarm takes a harsh, yet frighteningly realistic look at an obsessed fan named Dre who takes things over the edge.
Played by the dynamic Dominique Fishback, the show’s first teaser shows Dre slightly rocking place as she stares into the distance before a hand reaches out for her.
“Who’s your favorite artist?” Dre assertively asks as the frames shift between scenes.
At one point, Dre is watching television. At another point, she appears to be scrolling through fan-obsessed tweets about her favorite artist. Then, she looks to be strutting around a pole.
“Who’s your favorite artist?” Dre asks with more of a demand each time.
Finally, Dre looks to hit her breaking point. One scene shows a woman who looks a lot like Dre shouting and obsessively banging on the top of a moving car. Another scene shows a woman who looks a lot like Dre following a wounded person into a living room while carrying an axe. Ultimately, she’s seen dancing to her heart’s content as she mops up a pool of blood. To make the series of scenes more engaging, the buzz of a swarm of bees grows louder each and every second.
Dre will finally tell the world who her favorite artist is when Swarm arrives on Prime Video in March. Check out the teaser below.
