Head Coach Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have landed the commitment of 2023 top 15 recruit and top three combo guard Simeon Wilcher. This is a big commitment for the Tar Heels and ranks as the best-rated recruit that Davis has landed since he became the Head Coach of the Tar Heels. He committed to the Tar Heels over the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Overtime Elite Program. Wilcher has “one and done” potential and brings an infusion of talent to the Tar Heels.

It didn’t take very long after Simeon Wilcher’s official visit to Chapel Hill for him to decide it was where he wanted to play college basketball in the Fall of 2023. He also took an official visit to Nebraska, but competing with a Blue Blood program is a hard thing to do. Wilcher is the first commit for Head Coach Hubert Davis in the 2023 recruiting class. There will likely be more as focus shifts to 2023 with the 2022 roster currently full of scholarship players.

Hubert Davis is about to begin his first season as the Tar Heels’ Head Coach, but recruiting for future seasons is incredibly important. Simeon Wilcher joins a long list of five-star recruits to commit to North Carolina and he won’t be the last. He will also likely join the ranks of Tar Heels to head to the NBA one day.
