Biako is no stranger to working with the best and the brightest in the world of music. From Baby Rose to Fousheé, the Los Angeles native has made his name as one of the most talented producers and multi-instrumentalists out right now. However, the majority of the work that Biako has put together places other artists at the forefront and him at the back. This week, he switched things up a bit with a new track.
Adding to a week that has been filled with major releases, Biako has tapped in with Chicago’s own Jean Deaux for “Damn Girl.” As the title suggests, the track is sultry and a tiny bit mysterious. Backed by flirtatious lyrics and airy production, Biako sings about how he’s in awe of so many of the womxn he comes across.
“My aim for Damn Girl was to uplift the image of womxn of all walks of life, from their usual patriarchal objectification into something that transcends the physical and gets to a more spiritual type of illumination, an intrinsic and almost frightening display of power that a womxn possesses,” Biako said in a press release about the new track.
If Biako’s newest track sounds a bit familiar, it’s because you may have heard it in the third season of Netflix’s You. Don’t worry, you’ll hear more from Biako in the near future. The multihyphenate act is planning to release a full-length project in 2022. While we wait for the full project, check out “Dam Girl” below.
