The Cincinnati Bearcats have named Louisville Cardinals Head Coach Scott Satterfield their next Head Coach. It isn’t often a group of five program hires a power five Head Coach, but soon Cincinnati will make the jump to the power five when they join the Big 12. Cincinnati began its search for a new Head Coach after it was announced that former Head Coach Luke Fickell would be leaving the program to become the Head Coach of the Wisconsin Badgers. Satterfield will now guide the program into the Big 12 when that move officially happens on July 1st, 2023.

As the Head Coach of the Louisville Cardinals, Scott Satterfield led the program to an overall record of 25-24 and an ACC record of 15-18. That tenure included a Music City Bowl win and a First Responder Bowl loss. He will not coach the team this year during the Fenway Bowl due to him taking the job with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Oddly enough the Louisville Cardinals will play the Cincinnati Bearcats in that bowl game, but Satterfield will not be involved in the game.

The Cincinnati Bearcats will embark on a new journey this upcoming season as a brand new power five program in the Big 12. Scott Satterfield will be tasked with maintaining the program’s success and winning games in the Big 12. Now the Louisville Cardinals will begin their search for the program’s next Head Coach.
