One face. One name. One belt. Bellator Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader and interim Bellator Heavyweight Champion Valentin Moldavsky are scheduled to meet on January 29, 2022 in Phoenix.
Valentin Moldavsky may be the interim titleholder, but he enters the match with a lot of momentum. Since joining Bellator, he has taken down heavyweight contenders like Javy Ayala, Linton Vassell and Roy Nelson. He’s earned a 6-0 record on the way to the top, but Bader believes he can stop his momentum.
Ryan Bader will look to end Moldavsky’s winning streak with a win in a state that means a lot to him. The Arizona State University graduate has taken on some of the promotion’s best heavyweight fighters such as King Mo, Matt Mitrione, Linton Vassell, Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis. With eight wins in his last 11 fights, Bader is trending upward as he enters the unification fight.
The highly-anticipated heavyweight match will be supported by the return of former bantamweight world champion Darrion Caldwell. He will share the octagon with Utimate Fighter: Latin America winner Enrique Barzola.
It will all go down on January 29, 2022 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
