Head Coach Chris Beard and the Texas Longhorns have landed the commitment of 2023 top ten recruit and top three power forward Ron Holland. The program lands a talented five-star recruit who projects to be a talented “one and done” prospect. He committed to the Texas Longhorns over the Arkansas Razorbacks and UCLA Bruins. While Holland did consider the G League Ignite program, just a few days before he committed he announced that he would be going to college. Beard now has one of the best five-star recruits in 2023 headed to his program next Fall.

Head Coach Chris Beard has proven to be a top-rated recruiter and coach in his time coaching in the Big 12. Adding Ron Holland to his program is a big addition and Beard should have him ready for the 2024 NBA Draft. Holland is currently the first 2023 recruit to commit to Chris Beard and the Texas Longhorns program. He will likely not be the last with the having offers out to several other recruits. Holland will likely be the headliner of the class for Texas either way.

The Texas native has decided to stay home in the state and play for the Texas Longhorns. Ron Holland will be playing in the NBA one day and Texas will help him advance to that level of basketball. Staying home and playing in Texas is just an added bonus.
