It seems to be a good few days for Virtual Reality. Yesterday, the creatives behind Oculus Rift announced the price point for their upcoming VR headset and PC. Now today there are new reports of a price point for Sony’s PlayStation VR.
Superdata, a research group, has looked into the virtual reality market and is now predicting that the PS VR will cost between $400-$600. With Oculus Rift being set at $600 without shipping and taxes, this price point doesn’t seem too far-fetched. Playstation Executive Andrew House originally said that the headset would cost the same as a console, so we can expect a price close to the $400 mark.
Along with the rumored price point for PlayStation VR, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai had a sot down with BBC to talk about the game development. Hirai told BBC that there are currently 200 developers working on a multitude of games for PS VR.
There is currently no release date for PS VR, but there are mumblings of it releasing before the summer. Stay tuned for all updates on the pricing and release date.
