The Nike Kobe 9 EM ‘Silk’ who official colorway is Villain Red/Bright Crimson/Gold is in fact confirmed for a release date of January 3, 2015. Not to mention, remember we just reported to you guys that the launch time has been updated so expect for that to take place with these since the 3rd is when it goes into affect.
For the Engineered Mesh version some of the colorways have been mediocre to me and that is mainly because I am more of a fan of the Elite Low. But this one I must say I like a lot.
According to Nike INC China there is in fact a storyline behind this specific Kobe 9 EM.
“Linking The East & West”.
Kobe Bryant on the court not only with excellent performance to attract fans worldwide, has been visiting different cities around the world to promote the development of basketball in the world. KOBE 9 Silk has been linked to the Silk Road between East and West for inspiration, and features a mix of different cultures, to show the contribution to the world around Kobe basketball.
In ancient times, purple silk is the most precious, so engineering mesh material upper KOBE 9 Silk special purple tone, and then decorated with golden Nike logo, Bryant’s logo and signature style.
Vamp pattern with oriental colors, inspired by the Dunhuang murals. And interspersed with the main pattern serpentine pattern, represents Bryant footprints all over the world.
KOBE 9 Silk will take effect January 1, 2015 through nike.com designated retail outlets and Greater China.
