The shoe will also have two other colorways with the “Causing Trouble” edition being an alter ego and the “Four Time” with navy and red colors as a nod to her career at UConn where she won four Most Outstanding Player awards and four national championships.
“Working with Puma to craft the first women’s signature basketball sneaker in the last 12 years was an honor,” Stewart said in a statement. “I hope that this is the first in a legacy of signature sneakers to come for women athletes across all sports and serves as inspiration for all young people that this, along with any achievement, is possible.”
The co-captain for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game becomes the 10th player in league history to have their own signature shoe joining legends like Rebecca Lobo, Sheryl Swoopes, Dawn Staley, and Diana Taurasi. Candace Parker was the last player to debut a signature shoe in 2011.
The Stewie 1 will be released in September, in the meantime, Stewart will debut the shoe during the WNBA All-Star festivities in Chicago.
