Honestly I don’t know what happened here, but this is the Nike Air Max 95 Empire. For what it’s worth these are more than likely going to be a Women’s sneaker because I just don’t see any man in his right mind lacing these up. The midsole is obviously the tooling from the AM95 but the upper which is pretty extended up the leg doesn’t sport the tradition Air Max 95 look. The Nike Air Max 95 Empire’ strips the classic silhouette of its human anatomy inspiration (human ribs, vertebrae, muscles, and skin), there looks to be chunks of detailing missing on this extended boot like design. Personally it looks almost like the popular gladiator woman’s sandal/shoe but incorporated into a sneaker.
Having official pictures from Nike is indication that the Nike Air Max 95 Empire is real but no release date is yet known. Look for these to possibly be associated with NikeLab simply because innovation of this sort usually is unveiled through them and released there as well.
