Jamie Foxx and Netflix have reportedly come to a mutual decision to end Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! after one season. Instead, the two parties will continue to work on two films, They Cloned Tyrone and Day Shift.
The eight-episode father-daughter comedy starred Foxx, David Alan Grier, Porscha Coleman, Kyla Drew Simmons and Jonathan Kite. Bentley Kyle Evans stepped in as the showrunner and Ken Whittingham led as the director. Season one first debuted on the streaming platform on April 14.
Netflix also canceled Grand Army earlier this week. The teen drama made waves with a talented cast that included Odessa A’zion, Odley Jean, Amalia Yoo, Maliq Johnson, Alphonso Romero Jones II and Siddhartha Pakam. Gone Girl producer Joshua Donnen and House of Cards producer Beau Willimon worked the show behind the scenes.
