Ne-Yo will be hitting the road this fall. After Labor Day, he will embark on the “Champagne & Roses Tour” with Mario and Robin Thicke. The tour is scheduled to stop in 15 U.S. cities, including Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas and San Diego. Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday, June 16.
The “Champagne & Roses Tour” is set to kick off 14 months after the release of Ne-Yo’s ninth studio album, Self Explanatory. The 13-track project is featured Yung Bleu, Trippie Redd, Jeremih and Zae France.
“I didn’t get into this business to be famous, sell a million records or make money. I do this because I love music and I would do it for free. I’m in a great place and this album is amazing,” he told Revolt about his latest body of work.
Mario has not released a project since 2020, but he popped up on the Verzuz stage in June 2022 with Omarion. Since then, he’s taken the stage at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival and released a single with Tory Lanez. Not to be forgotten, he has teased the release of full-length project in the near future.
“I have love for both, but I have to say I was Team Mario. I got love for Omarion — he’s a performer and dude is somewhat untouchable in his element. However, a performer against a singer — the performer is always going to struggle a little bit because the performer has to use their whole body to get the same response that the singer can get with just his voice,” Ne-Yo said about Mario’s 2022 Verzuz performance.
Robin Thicke has also been working on new music since the release of his last album, On Earth, and in Heaven, in 2021. The 11-track project was led by the single, “That’s What Love Can Do,” which topped the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in 2019.
