Musician María Elena Ríos has accused actor Tenoch Huerta of “emotional abuse” and displaying sexually predatory behavior.
“It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie,” she tweeted Sunday.
“Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization.”
Minutes later, Ríos followed up with an additional tweet and screenshots of hateful messages she received after accusing the actor of emotional abuse.
“Why am I late in talking about it? Because I have a process. Why didn’t I report? Because I was afraid that this would happen: people who refuse to believe that a SUPER HERO is an abuser, manipulator and sexual predator,” she continued.
“Yes, you Tenoch Huerta abuse because you know you have power.”
On Monday, Huerta issued a statement to the press regarding the allegations levied against him. According to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor, Ríos’s claims are “false and completely unsubstantiated.”
“Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue,” Huerta stated.
“And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to contest claims that are both false and offensive.”
Marvel nor their parent company, Disney, have commented on the matter.
