Nearly a year ago, Nas confirmed that he and Hit-Boy were working on King’s Disease III. Today, he followed through on his promise to his fans and announced that his latest studio album would drop on November 11, 2022. In addition, the New York native and California producer shared the project’s artwork. Without adding extra frills, the artwork remains elegant with three gold bars offset by a rich red background.
“If KD3 lives up to the hype this will be one of the best 3 album runs in the last 10 years,” one fan tweeted.
Nas set the bar high when he dropped King’s Disease in August 2020. Complete with contributions from The Firm, Anderson .Paak and several others, the LP delivered tracks like “Car #85” with Charlie Wilson and “Till The War Is Won” with Lil’ Durk. Not only did it become Nas’s 14th album to reach the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart, but it also became his first solo album to win the “Best Rap Album” category at the Grammy Awards. One year later, Nas and Hit-Boy delivered King’s Disease. While it didn’t win a Grammy Award, there were several fans who felt that King’s Disease II may be better than the first.
“There’s not an ounce of fat, not a wasted moment, not a single beat that doesn’t suit its purpose to the letter,” Chase McMullen of The Line of Best Fit wrote.
“King’s Disease II is a victory lap that nonetheless never lets up its pace.”
Expectations are high for this project, but Nas and Hit-Boy promise to deliver King’s Disease III on November 11, 2022 and meet each of them.
