Ding, ding! It’s time for the first round and Trevante Rhodes is ready to deliver punishment as the heavyweight champion. Hulu has shared the first look at Rhodes’ portrayal of Mike Tyson in the upcoming series, Mike. The limited series will examine Tyson’s upbringing, his rise to stardom, his fall from the top and his efforts to rebuild his life. Along the way, Rhodes will bring to life some of Tyson’s greatest fights and darkest moments.
“From creator/screenwriter Steven Rogers and the team behind I, Tonya and showrunner Karin Gist comes MIKE. The limited series tells the story of the dynamic and controversial life of boxing icon Mike Tyson, starring Trevante Rhodes,” the show’s description reads.
Mike is one of two projects about Tyson’s life that is in the works. Jamie Foxx is also working with Tyson and company on a project that will chronicle his life through his lens. However, that project does not appear to have a release date yet. As for Hulu’s unauthorized series, check out the teaser below before it hits a streaming service near you on August 25, 2022.
