New York Jets Safety Marcus Maye will miss about three or four weeks after suffering an ankle injury. He is largely regarded as their best performing defensive player and is currently playing under a franchise tag the team placed on him this past offseason. The Jets currently sit at 0-3 heading into week 4 and have little hope of winning games most weeks. New York’s next four games are against the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Cincinnati Bengals.

To put it kindly, the New York Jets have not looked great so far this season. Zach Wilson has been pressured and harrassed into making bad decisions and the defense has been incapable of helping on the other side of the ball. Marcus Maye was a bright spot on the defense, but now they will have to play without him for some time. Right now the Jets probably need to lose some more games and draft some more talent for their rookie quarterback.

Marcus Maye is a much-needed veteran presence on this Jets team. The younger members of the team could learn a lot from him on the field. We here at Def Pen Sports hope to see Maye healthy and back on the field in a few weeks.
