2k and Hanger 13’s Mafia III is among the highly anticipated releases for 2016 and Best Buy may have spilled the release date for the game. Best Buy and GameStop both have the open-world Mafia series listed for release on Tuesday, April 26th. Since the release of the announcement trailer and then the gameplay trailer, 2k has never given the game a release month, only saying that it will be released in 2016.
With this news, 2k has quickly released a statement about this alleged release date.
“Mafia III will release in calendar 2016 during Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year 2017. No official release date has been announced at this time. It is common practice for retailers to list placeholder dates before an official release date has been announced due to the requirements of their operating systems.”
