Walton was hired in 2019 after his time in Los Angeles, he spent two full seasons and the start of the current season as the Kings head coach and leaves with a 68-93 record.
Now, according to Wojnarowski, Kings Associate Head Coach Alvin Gentry is expected to be a strong candidate to assume as the interim head coach. This would make him the 11th coach the Kings have had in the last 15 years.
