‘What’s going on right now is so surreal to me’. That’s how LeBron James started his championship speech during the Cavs parade yesterday, but when Cleveland won the NBA championship just last Sunday, the moment couldn’t have been more relieving for LeBron James. James who led the Finals in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals, cemented his legacy into the game of basketball. By coming back from 3-1 against the favoured Golden State Warriors to win the cities first NBA championship, LeBron James made the city’s dreams come true. It was really like something out of a Disney movie, like LeBron James and the Cavs were the underdogs, and Tyronn Lue gives a motivational speech at the start of Game 5 that propels them to win 3 games in a row on the way to their first title. Whether this was a fairytale story or not, LeBron James speech highlighted the Cavaliers parade on Wednesday. With what seemed like all of Ohio showing up in Cleveland for the event, LeBron gave a heartfelt speech to Cleveland, thanking them the support they’ve given throughout the years, and also shouting out James Jones for his 6 straight Finals appearances.
