If I took a poll on who do you think is LeBron James’ favourite player ever. People would probably go for legends like Michael Jordan, Julius Erving, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson. Or maybe somebody that he’s played with like Dwyane Wade or Zydrunas Ilgauskas. If you would say any of those names you would get pretty decent odds on it being correct.
But no, we would all be wrong. Because LeBron James’ favourite player of All-Time is none other than James Jones.
“He’s my favorite player of all time.”
“I told J.J., as long as I’m playing, he’s going to be around,” James said last week. “He’s not allowed to stop playing basketball. So, I’m going to make sure I got a roster spot for him. I love him. He’s the greatest teammate I’ve ever had.“
That’s quite a statement by James there. And if you’re wondering how Jones feels about James, it’s pretty much the same.
“He knows I’m eternally indebted to him, and most importantly, because he’s done that for me, the only thing I want to see him be is the greatest player ever to play this game,” Jones said of James. “And not just a great basketball player, but a man, a father, a husband, an individual, an icon. And so, that’s why we share that bond, because I told him my goal, my focus here is to win championships and to help him build his legacy so that he’s iconic.”
“He already knows it’s a reciprocation because he’s my favorite player ever,” Jones said.
These two have been teammates in two cities and it just goes to show we’re only scratching the surface when it comes to NBA players and the chemistry they have.
