She’s back!
One of the keys to greatness in any industry is to never remain satisfied with the status quo. For a young artist like Latto, it may have been easy to become satisfied with the success of her debut album, Queen of da Souf, in 2020. Not only did it include contributions from Atlanta, Georgia legends like Gucci Mane and 21 Savage, but it was also named one of the 50 best albums of 2020 by Genius. Despite her early success, she came back even harder in 2022 with her sophomore album, 777. While many warn of a sophomore slump, the Atlanta native took things to a new level, earning a Grammy nod and a verse from Mariah Carey. Less than a full year after taking things to new heights with 777, she’s back and seemingly better than ever.
Few, if any, artists have been as active without releasing a new project as Latto. Not only did she find a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Lottery” featuring Lu Kala, but she also appeared on Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” remix. Kicking off the summer, she’s elevating to new heights yet again with “Put It On Da Floor.” Everyone from LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson to Waka Flocka Flame has shown support for the record. Now, she’s back with the song’s official remix featuring Cardi B. With a superstar like Cardi B on the track, the summer anthem is sure to make waves on streaming services, the charts and timelines.
