Only the biggest and brightest stars in music are tapped to produce or curate soundtracks for major motion pictures. In the recent past, TDE produced the Black Panther soundtrack, Mike WiLL Made-It crafted the Creed II soundtrack and 21 Savage delivered the Spiral: From The Book of Saw Soundtrack. More recently, J. Cole’s Dreamville curated the soundtrack for Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut, Creed III. This Friday, Metro Boomin’ can put his name alongside those artists as he has crafted the soundtrack for Marvel’s latest animated film, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.
Metro Boomin’ put his all into crafting his first animated film soundtrack. The LP includes contributions from some of his frequent collaborators, including 21 Savage, Offset, Lil’ Uzi Vert and A$AP Rocky. The soundtrack also features rising artists like J.I.D and Ice Spice.
“Metro Boomin is a true visionary who continues to raise the bar. For the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack, Metro curated and delivered with fierce passion and integrity,” Dana Sano of Republic Records said.
“The concept for the next installment of Miles’ story demanded a contemporary and culturally significant musical collaborator. Metro Boomin was clearly the perfect cultural voice to sculpt the musical environment to support this amazing next chapter,” Spring Aspers of Sony Pictures added.
Anticipation for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is at an all-time high, but Metro Boomin’ is determined to meet the moment with his best work yet.
