One of the more memorable moments from HBO’s classic series, Insecure, involves Issa, Tiffany, Molly and Kelli having a hilariously in-depth conversation at an art show. During the conversation, Issa vows not to judge others or lean into her pettiness. In response, Kelli offers one of the show’s most memorable one liners.
“Growth,” she said.
While the scene has turned into a popular meme, it does have some real life value. Whether we’re acting on television or writing about music, there’s always room for growth. In the past few years, rising artist Langston Bleu has demonstrated his growth as an artist.
Way back in early 2020, Langston Bleu appeared on the Def Pen radar with a track called “Waiting.” The uptempo production offered a look at the promising artist through the lens of a record that could find its way into a day party playlist or a kickback. Months later, Langston Bleu stepped into a different lane with the release of “Slow Down.” While “Slow Down” was still uptempo, the mellow production allowed Langston Bleu to play around with his vocals in a unique way. Having experimented with “Waiting,” “Slow Down,” and his latest project, Bleu, Langston Bleu is prepared to take the next step in his career with “Superstar.”
“Superstar” is a smooth, yet gripping track that pulls you in with its flutes and addictive hook.
“Stepped up in this club/I feel like, ‘Oh, my God’/All these eyes on me. I feel like a superstar,” he sings.
From taking the stage at ASCAP Urban’s “On The Come Up” showcase to appearing on Audiomack, Langston Bleu has slowly built up foundation brick by brick. “Superstar” is the next step in his journey and showcases his growth as an artist. Check out the track below and be on the lookout for more new music from the rising artist.
