Konami is back at it. Prior to the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami and Kojima had a nasty falling out. Konami tried to rid themselves of everything associated with Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima’s name was removed from the MGS V box art, site and more.
Fortunately enough fans refused to side with Konami. Store fronts and fans were in heavy support of Hideo Kojima, some stores even made sure fans knew MGS V was a Hideo Kojima Production.
It was recently reported that Hideo Kojima’s contract with Konami officially ran its course, but Konami quickly swooped in saying he’s still under contract until December.
Now, just a week later it is being reported that Konami has officially shutdown Kojima’s LA Studios. The LA Studio are the masterminds behind the development of Metal Gear Online. It’ll be interesting to see how updates for Metal Gear Online will be handled going forward.
Stick around for any updates on the situation.
