The Minnesota Vikings have got their guy. Kirk Cousins is expected to sign a 3-year, $86 millions deal that is fully guaranteed. This was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Ian Rapoport had also reported the numbers of the deal earlier in the day. The deal is set at 3-years, $86 millions fully guaranteed. This brings a conclusion to a long speculation process of where Cousins was going to land for 2018 and beyond. Many thought the Vikings were the favorite but Kirk was entertaining the Cardinals as well as the jets for a few weeks.
This is a huge deal for the Vikings to get done, they made the NFC championship with Case Keenum last season and seemed one piece away from a shot at the Super Bowl, ultimately falling short to Super Bowl Champs the Philadelphia Eagles. Now that they have this piece they look to sure up some spots along the lines and take a shot at the title next year.
Free Agency doesn’t begin until Wednesday so the deal won’t be signed until tomorrow but it seemed today’s visit was all the QB needed to decide his future in the league.
In 2017 Kirk Cousins threw for 4,093 yards, 27 TD’s, 13 INT’s and a 64% completion rate. The Redskins ultimately fell short of the playoffs but with Cousins moving on to a real contender, with a fully guaranteed paycheck, I’m sure that’s the last thing on his mind.
