She’s back! Well, she’s sort of back. Actress Kim Cattrall will reportedly reprise her role as Samantha Jones in the season two finale of Max’s And Just Like That. However, fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet. According to Variety, Cattrall’s appearance “will not be a continuation of the character for now.” Instead, she will make a short cameo in which Jones has a “phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.”
Cattrall’s appearance in the second season of And Just Like That isn’t entirely surprising. In season one, Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, texted Jones. By the end of the season, they had made plans to meet up in Jones’ new home of London and reconcile. Now, it appears they will merely speak over the phone.
With that said, Cattrall and Parker did go through a public feud years ago. When the revival of the series was put together, Cattrall was reportedly left out of the cast.
“I would have preferred for all of us to have some kind of event to warrant a third film,” she said when asked if she would play the role of Samantha Jones again.
“That didn’t happen.”
One year later, she is set to appear in the series in some capacity. Season two of And Just Like That is set to premiere on June 22, 2023.
