Olympic Silver Medalist Keyshawn Davis was originally scheduled to fight Esteban Sanchez on March 19, 2022 at the Hulu Theater in New York, New York. Unfortunately, Davis fell ill and was unable to step into the ring last month. For some fighters, a setback such as that may create issues inside of the ring. However, Davis is not like most other fighters.
Not long before Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez fought for the unified super featherweight title, Davis showcased his skills as one of the brightest prospects in the sport. While his opponent, Esteban Sanchez, has gained valuable experience in 19 fights, Davis proved to be too much for 23-year-old fighter.
From start to finish, Davis overwhelmed Sanchez en route to a sixth round stoppage. Moving forward, the young prospect will look to move up the lightweight ladder as his skills build.
