Tennessee Volunteers freshman guard Kennedy Chandler has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and plans to forgo his remaining college eligibility. His last college game will be a loss in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament against the Michigan Wolverines. The former five-star recruit is projected to be a first-round draft pick, but currently, his stock is all over the place. He was formerly a lottery pick, but his stock has been trending down as of late. It is unlikely he falls outside of the first round.
Tennessee freshman, Kennedy Chandler just announced on ESPN’s NBA Today that he is declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft. #Vols
He said the decision was tough. He talked with his family and coach Rick Barnes about it, and decided it was the best decision for him.

Kennedy Chandler had a good freshman year and played well for Head Coach Rick Barnes. During his lone college basketball season, he averaged 13.9 points, 4.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. He led the team in points, assists, and steals per game. That’s impressive as a freshman and he paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 46.4 percent and a three-point percentage of 38.3 percent.

Kennedy Chandler has time to improve his draft stock and go higher than where he is currently projected to go. The potential of former five-star recruits is always factored into NBA teams’ draft projections. For Chandler, this is his chance to finally realize his dream and play basketball in the NBA. There is still some work to do, but he comes from a program that gets guys ready for this and he will be no different.
