NBA Picks 4/5/22
Despite the Los Angeles Lakers’ lack of heart on Friday night, we finished last week in the green. We assumed LeBron James and company would come together and show some fight but it was not to be. Now, after a one-day break due to the 2022 NCAA Championship, it’s time to finish the year strong. Seeds and first-round matchups will be dictated by what happens in the next six or so days. Let’s jump right into the NBA Picks 4/5/22.
Philadelphia 76ers at Indiana Pacers (+11.5) 7:10 p.m EST
The Philadelphia 76ers have every reason to win this game while the Indiana Pacers have every reason to lose it. If the Sixers come out with energy and effort, they can put this one away early.
Pick: Philadelphia 76ers -11.5 (-110 via DraftKings)
Charlotte Hornets at Miami Heat (-5.5) 8:10 p.m EST
The Miami Heat practically have the number one seed locked up. The Charlotte Hornets, meanwhile, would love to jump from 9th to 8th and give themselves two chances to make the playoffs. This last week the Xs and Os don’t matter as much as each team’s motivation levels. Advantage Charlotte.
Pick: Charlotte Hornets +5.5 (-110 via DraftKings)
Milwaukee Bucks at Chicago Bulls (+5) 8:10 p.m EST
The Milwaukee Bucks have title hopes and are likely to coast to the second round. Because of that, their motivation revolves around the need to secure home-court advantage in a potential two vs three second-round matchup. The Chicago Bulls will finish as either the 5th or 6th seed. There’s no tangible benefit to either one since the top four seeds are still in question. I expect the Bucks take care of business here.
